I am getting married!
Jacob, a close friend for many years and boyfriend for 5 months proposed to me on September 2nd, and I quickly and happily accepted. The engagement story is a long romantic beautiful story that maybe I'll include on here a little later.

Anyway, he is currently in florida training with BMW to be a tech, and he wont be back till december. So I've been attempting to plan this wedding without him being here. It's alot harder and more stressful than I ever imagined. Mostly because of my mom.

My mom is one of those people who is ALWAYS stressed out. I think she needs it to get anything done. But if someone is stressed around me, it makes it harder for me to not get stressed. So recently it's seemed like every time we talk about plans, it ends up being an argument. So.. I've been discussing and planning most of the wedding with my mother in law. I think it hurts my mom's feelings, but I dont know what else to do. Anyone who's been through this have any advice?

It's just that Jacob, my fiance has expensive high class taste, but my family neither has that taste nor the budget to fulfill that. So trying to create that high class elegant feel on a extremely tight budget has been really hard. Especially since when my sister got married, it was a very relaxed more simple wedding, and my mom doesn't understand that I am not my sister, and I like things different.

Ugh. Weddings SHOULD NOT be stressful. It's such a happy thing, and you're just trying to create the perfect day.. it shouldn't make you want to elope!

Any suggestions from anyone?
